LES CULVER
About
Les Culver is a Denver-based freelance trumpet and flugelhorn player.
He has performed an expansive range of music from pop to jazz, classical to big band.
Les holds a PhD from the St. Petersburg State Conservatory in Russia. He was also a long-time student of teaching heavyweight Jim Grafmyer and and is privileged to be under the tutelage of jazz trumpeter Bob Zottola.
Currently a session musician for MoonLab Music, Les is available as a sideman or soloist for commercial recordings, indie projects and international touring.

Les plays a Claude Gordon Benge trumpet for commercial work and a Schilke B-5 trumpet for classical repertoire.
His go-to flugelhorn is a Marcinkiewicz Rembrandt.
He also uses a custom set of Bob Reeves mouthpieces.
In the studio, Les prefers to track with AEA R44, KU4 and R84 microphones.
